Your Affordable Education

Picture

St. Joseph School families recognize that the investment in Catholic education means an investment in a community who learns and shares successes and challenges together. This community of families has created a number of creative opportunities to help make this experience affordable for a variety of income levels and family sizes.

Catholic Tuition Grant Program (CTGP) is offered to families who are identified as"active" parishioners of a parish without an associated parish school and who wish to enroll their child(ren) in another parish affiliated Catholic school in the Diocese of Buffalo. A tuition Grant of $1,350 per child is credited to the parish school on behalf of the family. A Parishioner Verification Form must be completed and signed by both the family and their parish pastor.

The Scrip or T.R.I.P. (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program) saves many participating families several hundred dollars each on their annual tuition. Briefly, the program works in the following way:  you choose from an extensive list of participating businesses and buy a gift card for a set denomination; for example a $25 Tops card.  For $25 you receive a $25 gift card and also are credited a percentage of the face value of the gift card toward your tuition!  The percentage varies from retailer to retailer.  This truly is a wonderful savings opportunity for families.

Please consider taking part in this program, and encourage your friends and family to do so as well.  Anyone may buy St. Joe's Scrips and designate your family as the beneficiary of the tuition-credit that their purchases earn.

If you would like more information, or would like to purchase Scrip gift cards, please contact Mrs. Dawn Norton at the school (585-343-6154).  Remember, the sooner you establish the habit of buying Scrips, the faster you will start earning tuition-credit.

For a list of retailers please go the current Scrip list

Bingo is offered every Friday evening at the school. Family members who volunteer to work on a regularly scheduled Bingo team will receive a $100  tuition reduction as well. This is a win-win for St. Joseph families and the school. All proceeds support school expenses.

The Lending Closet is intended to help offset the cost associated with school uniform expenses.  Located next to the Nurse's office just off the cafeteria, the Lending  Closet is a collection of uniform pants, jumpers, shirts, sweatshirts  and  fleeces that are free for the taking.  These uniforms are  provided by   families whose St. Joseph's students have outgrown them. It is used frequently and the availability of sizes and types of clothing is always being updated. So if you do not see something you need immediately, check back the next week as it might be there!
