Need Based Tuition Aid

Need-based tuition aid has been designed to allow families, regardless of their income level, the opportunity to share in the benefits of Catholic Education. St. Joseph Regional School and the Diocese of Buffalo are pleased to offer a program to assist parents in financing their child’s Catholic education.
Bison Fund
The BISON fund is a privately funded tuition assistance program for low income grammar school children (K-6). Tuition assistance is based on adjusted gross income of families and tuition that is being charged. Any child is eligible for the program if they meet the following criteria:

The pre-application is only for families new to BISON. A lottery drawing is held to award the scholarships. Lottery winners will receive an email directing them to complete a full application to receive a scholarship. Waitlisted families will also be notified by e-mail.
Current families will be e-mailed a link to complete the requalification process. The families will log into the database and complete the requalification steps and upload their financial information.

The scholarships are awarded solely based on need. The only academic requirement is that the student continues to be enrolled in the school and maintains passing grades.

- Reside in any of the 8 counties of Western New York;
- the family must meet income eligibility guidelines (on the BISON application and website);
- the child must be entering grades K-6;
- the child must meet the admissions requirements at the accredited school that he or she desires to attend.
