Physical Education News
Welcome to Physical Education, please have students wear sneakers and weather-appropriate uniforms. Also please have students bring a water bottle to school, they will bring them to PE class. We will be outside as much as possible, where students can participate in activities.
The students will be participating in a wide variety of activities, The students will constantly be working on locomotor skills (walking, running, jogging, skipping, galloping, hopping and jumping) throughout the year. We begin with an emphasis on throwing and catching with multiple objects (balls, bean bags, footballs, frisbees). Next our learning emphasis will move to kicking and dribbling objects (soccer and basketball). From there the emphasis will move to activities that require volleying or the use of short and long handled implements (volleyball, nitro-ball, pickleball, floor hockey and lacrosse). Then to close out the year we will spend time on a variety of movements related to dance, fitness and lifetime activities. Throughout the year, students will be working on decision making skills, effort, respecting others/equipment and teamwork/cooperation through all of our activities. |
