Technology & Makerspace NewsTechnology
All students will be learning/reinforcing Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship. Kindergarten and first grade students will be coding and teaching their monster to read on their IPads. They will continue to explore a variety of educational apps including early robotics, block coding , and still motion. Students in grades 2-6 will be reinforcing and developing new skills for success utilizing all Google Apps. In addition, students will work on mastering keyboarding techniques throughout the school year. New to Technology Class this year is the Drone Legends Program. Students will learn all about drones and how to code/program them in addition to flying though an obstacle course. Makerspace Students in all grades will be exploring engineering concepts by participating in hands-on multifaceted activities and challenges. We will focus on the 4 C’s of Engineering Design. CREATIVITY COLLABORATION CRITICAL THINKING COMMUNICATION Grade 6 will be using AI in a safe, creative manner to create pages and the cover for the yearbook. In addition, they will design and create page layouts. Grade 5 and 6 will be researching and constructing a variety of projects in preparation for Tech Wars. Grade 2-4 will be working on electrical circuits and designing with Tinkercad for 3D printing. Grade Kindergarten and 1 will focus on creativity and collaboration working in teams to complete various challenges. They will also be working on paper circuit projects. Preschool and Pre-K classes are learning the basics for building with Keva Planks and some holiday snacks. |
