Why Catholic Education Matters:
G O D I S L O V E Catholic schools have a caring community, much like a big family where the individual is supported and celebrated. Each student is their own unique part of the community that is vibrant and alive with God’s love. The structure and values that Catholic education instill in the hearts and minds of the children is remarkable and lasting- and I am so grateful to be a part of it! It is a blessing to help care for the children, teach them about wellness, and also include their spiritual wellbeing as part of a holistic and positive mindset for their future. |
Health Services NewsA child who is sick will not be able to perform well in school and is likely to spread the illness to other children and staff. We suggest making a plan for childcare ahead of time so you will not be caught without a comforting place for your child to stay if he/she is ill.
SCHOOL HEALTH PAGE Please click here for the School Wellness resource page. You will find forms, NYS regulations, and also information on frequently seen conditions, and wellness promotion. Our school policy states that you should not send your child to school if he/she has:
NOTIFICATION OF MISSED SCHOOL TIME If your child does stay home, please notify the school. NYS requires a note upon their return. CLICK HERE to report your child absent or missing school time. This will notify the nurse and be considered a ‘written note’. If your child misses 3+ days of school due to illness, we must also have a note from a HCP provider. INJURIES If your child sustains an injury that has the potential to affect their classroom performance or cause physical activity restrictions, we ask that you have your HCP fill out a ‘Return to physical activity form’ so that we can support their healing and ensure they follow HCP recommendations. At minimum, PLEASE have the care provider fax a note to the school. Medications at School Per the school policy handbook and NYS Health law:
