Why a Catholic Education Matters
I am passionate about creating a positive and supportive classroom where students feel confident, valued, and excited to learn. I teach Grade 4, 5, and 6 English Language Arts and Grade 6 Math, focusing on helping students build strong academic skills while encouraging curiousity, collaboration, and critical thinking. I believe in meeting students where they are, celebrating growth, and supporting each child’s unique strengths. I value strong communication with families and strive to make learning engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable for all students.

Sixth Grade News

In 4 Grade ELA, students grow as readers and writers by exploring a variety of stories and informational texts. Throughout the year, we focus on understanding what we read, finding important details, learning new vocabulary, and writing clear, organized paragraphs. Students are encouraged to share their ideas through class discussions and written responses as they build confidence and a love for reading.
Grade 5 ELA helps students become stronger, more thoughtful readers and writers. Students practice understanding texts more deeply, finding evidence to support their ideas, and recognizing important themes. Writing instruction focuses on organizing thoughts, expanding ideas, and using proper grammer, helping students clearly express themselves and prepare for middle school learning.
In Grade 6 ELA, students develop independence as readers, writers, and thinkers. Throughout the year, they read more challenging texts, discuss big ideas, and support their opinions with evidence from the text. Students write in different formats, including stories, essays, and responses, while building skills in communication, collaboration, and critical thinking
Grade 6 Math focuses on building confidence and understanding in key math skills. Students work with fractions, decimals, ratios, expressions, equations, and data though hands-on activities and realworld problem solving. Emphasis is placed on explaining thinking, using different strategies, and developing a positive mindset toward math.
