Why a Catholic Education Matters
I have always been an advocate for a Catholic education. My teaching philosophy stems from my experience at Le Moyne College, where their motto is “where greatness meets goodness.” This is what I strive for in my classroom.  Bringing all of our students’ greatness- their academic skills, knowledge, and talents, together with their goodness- their kindness, love, and empathy. My goal is to mold students in the shape of Jesus, developing not only their skills, but their hearts and souls.

Fifth Grade News

Welcome!
Grade 5 math:
To start off the year, the first unit will focus on place value and whole-number operations. Students will build their number sense by working with multi-digit numbers, rounding, and solving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems.

Social Studies:
I’m so excited to become historians with you all! Since we’re stepping into the role of historians, we will learn to think as such. Each unit will be set up similarly across grade levels. At the start, we will discuss a grounding question that we’ll shape our learning around in order to structure our learning. Each unit, students will complete an interactive notebook, creative projects, and chances to shape their own learning. We will do seasonal book reports for a total of three in a year. Students will read historical fiction books that are written from the perspective of children in different historical periods, to gain perspective. We will start the fall with Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks.

4th Grade: Our first unit of study will be Geography in NYS

5th Grade: Our first unit of study will be The First Americans

6th Grade: Our first unit of study will be The First Civilizations
