Why a Catholic Education Matters
We believe that Catholic education allows a child to receive a well-rounded education where not only an excellent academic program is offered, but also where a child can profess their faith freely in a loving and caring environment.

We love children, especially the little ones.  We love to teach at St. Joseph Regional School because it gives us the opportunity to share with our students all about this wonderful world God gave us.

3 Year Old Pre-K
Teachers: Mrs. Stephanie King & Miss Morgan Armison

Welcome to 3-year-old Pre-K!
Some of the objectives we will work on this year in Preschool will be:
  • Learning how to be a kind friend.
  • Learning the letters of our names and beginning to write them.
  • Learning our alphabet, shapes, colors, numbers and counting, months of the year and days of the week
We will be reading stories, singing songs together, creating art and developing our large and fine motor skills.

Some of the themes we will explore this year:
  • September -  the letter A,  the color red, and apples
  • October -      the letter F, fall, and orange
  • November-   the letter T, being thankful, and brown
  • December-   the letter C, Christ, and Christmas
  • January -     the letter S, snow, and the author Eric Carle
  • February-    the letter V, Valentines Day, and the author Mo Willems
  • March-        the letter G, Green, and the author Dr. Seuss
  • April -         the letter E, Easter, April showers
  • May -         the letter M, Mothers Day, Spring
  • June -       Summer!
Other topics we may explore - simple sight words, stars and planets, ocean life, frogs and ducks in spring, dinosaurs, expressions and feelings.

During the month of September, we will focus on apples, leaves, and the season of fall.

Apples:  We will have an apple tasting party which will include applesauce, applejuice, and of course different types of apples.  Our class will learn several apple songs, apple painting crafts and activities based around apples.

Leaves:  This is the best time of the year to use our detective eyes to see the many colors that leaves will be changing to.  Our time outside will be spent going on a leaf hunt, learning the names of trees, and of course making leaf piles.

The season of fall:  There are so many changes happening outside during the fall.  We will discuss squirrels, acorns, and scarecrows.

Our class is also learning about their new friends, finding their way around our classroom, and exploring our school through gym, makerspace, and music class.
