About the teacher and Why Catholic Education Matters:
I am very excited to be teaching at SJRS! I have quickly learned to love the community aspect and atmosphere here at St. Joseph's Regional School. I have worked in education and special education for the past four years, so I am excited to start this year!
In our classroom, lessons in reading and math are woven together with lessons in compassion, prayer, and service. Families and teachers work as partners, helping children develop not only strong academic skills, but also a strong moral compass. This foundation will guide them for a lifetime, long after they’ve moved on from second grade. Catholic education matters because it shapes the whole child, mind, body, and spirit and helps them grow into the people God created them to be.

Second Grade News

Welcome to our Second Grade classroom!
My hope is that every child who walks through our classroom door feels loved, valued, safe, and welcomed. Every child is a unique and beautiful gift from God, and each one brings something special to our classroom family.

Together, we will learn, pray, laugh, grow, and encourage one another. We will celebrate our successes, learn from our mistakes, and remind each other that it is okay to try, make mistakes, and try again. In our classroom, everyone belongs, everyone matters, and everyone has a special place.

We will work hard and grow together in all areas of learning. For reading and phonics, we use UFLI Foundations to build strong foundational reading skills. In math, we use Eureka Math to develop problem-solving skills, mathematical thinking, and confidence. We also use i-Ready to support each child's individual learning needs and celebrate their growth.

Most importantly, I want my students to know that they are more than their grades or accomplishments. They are children of God who are loved just as they are.

I am so excited to partner with our families this year as we help each child grow in faith, confidence, kindness, and knowledge.
