We choose for our children the educational opportunities that will enrich them most. Catholic Education nurtures the whole child, mind, body and spirit. Musically, we have many great opportunities at St. Joseph School for our children. I love being able to teach songs of Faith to the children, and help them connect their faith to their everyday life. Music News
“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”
~ Victor Hugo Welcome back to Music Class at St. Joseph School! Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn-- shout for joy before the Lord, the King. Psalm 98 Music Classes meet once per week for all students in grades K through 8. In Music Class we explore our voices, learn the songs of our Faith, and learn Music Appreciation, History and Theory. Each classroom participates in school-wide concerts twice per year (in mid December and mid May, both on a Wednesday evening). All students are expected to participate, and attendance at the two concerts is part of the Classroom Music grade. The concert will begin at 6:30. Please see the link to Concert and Grading Policies for more information. CHOIR Students who wish can join our St. Joseph’s Choir. Students that participate in Choir are eligible to audition to participate in Genesee Wyoming Music Educators Association and New York State School Music Association Events. *** Attendance at all rehearsals in critical to our success as an ensemble! *** Rehearsals are held: 3rd & 4th Grade Choir : Monday afternoon from 1:30 – 2:15 5th & 6th Grade Choir : Monday afternoon from 2:25 – 2:00 7th & 8th Grade Choir : Tuesday afternoon from 2:15 – 3:00 All Choir rehearsals will be held in the Music Room in the Annex Building.
