St. Joseph Regional School provides students with a quality education that incorporates the love for Jesus into the fields of study. The faith of the students begins to flourish and grow when the spiritual aspect of the students is watered with Catholic Education. St. Joseph Regional School is a warm, welcoming community that allows students to feel comfortable which in turn allows students to learn. Kindergarten News
I am excited to start the school year with a classroom full of new students. Flexible seating and community supplies that were once plentiful in my classroom will now be reworked to comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
Many concepts will be taught through a strategy called Whole Brain Teaching. This strategy gets students up and moving and incorporates gestures that are associated with different topics and keywords. Students will start going on adventures through the SuperKids curriculum for English Language Arts. A foundation of each letter and letter-sound will be created and built upon. From there, students will start putting letters and sounds together into words and then into sentences. In Math, we will be focusing on writing, identifying, and computing with numbers from zero to twenty. Classifying, modeling, and analyzing objects and shapes will also be explored. In Science, students will plan and conduct an investigation to test different claims about the weather, pushes and pulls (force), and animals and animal environments. Social Studies will allow students to learn about themselves and others, how to be a good citizen, and students will be introduced to geography. Celebrating, learning about, growing in, and sharing God’s love are all topics we will be covering in Religion. I am eager to get back into the classroom to meet and enjoy my new class. I can’t wait to see you! As always, feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. |
