Why Catholic Education Matters:
Catholic schools prepare our students in mind and spirit so that they can live lives of hope, joy, and peace. Being a Catholic has always been very important to me. I am proud to work at a school that holds such strong educational and spiritual values!
"Community is at the heart of all Catholic education, not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived . . . Your students will learn to understand and appreciate the value of community as they experience love, trust, and loyalty in your school and educational programs, and as they learn to trust all persons as brothers and sisters created by God and redeemed by Christ." Pope John Paul II

First Grade News
Welcome to first grade! I am looking forward to a great year, filled with fun and learning. I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students as the year goes on.
In 1st grade, we will continue learning through Superkids and their adventures. We are going to start the year reviewing letter recognition, letter sounds, and letter formation. Students will have opportunities to learn both individually and as a whole group.
We will jump into math reviewing number order, more than, less than, equal to, and using number bonds for addition. Students will have short homework assignments. These assignments will be put into their homework folder, and be labeled “HW”.
In Science we will be discovering the life stages of human beings, as well as identifying characteristics of each stage of life.
Our community service project will be raising money to buy toys for Golisano Children’s Hospital.
We are going to have a very busy year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have.
