Why Catholic Education Matters:
Catholic schools prepare our students in mind and spirit so that they can live lives of hope, joy, and peace. Being a Catholic has always been very important to me. I am proud to work at a school that holds such strong educational and spiritual values!
"Community is at the heart of all Catholic education, not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived . . . Your students will learn to understand and appreciate the value of community as they experience love, trust, and loyalty in your school and educational programs, and as they learn to trust all persons as brothers and sisters created by God and redeemed by Christ." Pope John Paul II

First Grade News
First grade is flying by! We continue to learn about God’s Word and how to follow Jesus in our words and in our actions. We have mastered the Sign of The Cross and say our prayers each day. First-grade attends Mass the first Friday of every month.
The Superkids and their adventures keep us on our toes, and anxious to keep reading! Through their adventures, we learn vocabulary, spelling, and most recently, nouns and verbs. Weekly readers and comprehension questions go home each week for additional reading enrichment.
First-grade is moving on from addition and subtraction facts within ten…and learning facts within twenty. The students enjoy being challenged and always rise to the occasion!
We finished the Stages of Life Science unit, and are now studying Plants. We also continue to work on our STREAM projects. This is a great time to catch us working cooperatively in small groups. Our latest project is building a bridge or a boat for our Gingerbread Man. Social Studies has us learning about current events and symbols of America.
