Why a Catholic Education Matters
Catholic school students standout in a community and often become leaders. I am a product of Catholic Education and I have always considered one of my defining traits to be "Catholic." Teaching in a Catholic school is a perfect fit for me.

6/7/8 and Sixth Grade Homeroom News

_ We surely have been busy in the Science room this month!  The 8th grade students have been learning chemistry and have especially enjoyed making and heating mixtures.  We are experts at reading and making solubility graphs.  Our favorite Chemist, Annette Guilds, will be visiting on February 7th to help us make aspirin.  Having Mrs. Guilds visit is such a treat because she is very knowledgeable and always helps us break the "Scientist" stereotype.

The 7th grade class has been enjoying several labs that help us understand punnet squares and genetic variation.  One lab involves using Teddy Grahams (did you know some have arms up and others arms down?- perfect for genotype/phenotype activities!)

My beautiful 6th graders are discovering natural disasters and how they break down and build up the earth.  We are also learning how to stay safe if a disaster were to occur.

We recently designed earthquake safe buildings using spaghetti sticks and marshmallows.     We continue to be concerned for others and baked several plates of cookies for our local "Steven's Table".  We learned about the civil rights movement and thought of ways our own peaceful resistance could change our community or world.
